A to Z: Parasol Protectorate

Double points for me again today! I'm on a roll!

Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate is one of my favorite Adult novel series...ever.

It's steampunk, which is totally hot right now--but more than that--it's witty, smart, and hilarious without ever feeling heavy. The characters are unusual and totally lovable. Everything about this series is awesome. It's so different, so unique, that honestly there's nothing I can think of to compare it against. And that's saying something.

Author Website:

I've read all books but the last...can't wait.

What about you? Any recent addictions?

  1. Happy A to Z Challenge!

  2. I read Soulless; I was on the fence about reading the rest of the series - I think only the second book was out at the time. It's definitely a good mix of a lot of supernatural elements and steampunk elements. I could not stop laughing though about the character saying "the bitches dance" toward the end to that werewolf!

  3. I've never heard of that series, but after that review, how can I not check it out? Thanks! :)

  4. I got on an OZ kick. There are 15 books in the "original" series. It was quite a project because many are out-of-print so I was hunting & bidding & buying from locations near OZ. Read them all to my kids as bedtime stories. Never to soon to introduce your kids to reading obsessively. :)

  5. I own the first book, but haven't read this series yet. I like the sound of unique. I should move this higher up my TBR pile.
