Time for another confession!

I resisted for so long.  I really did.

Almost a full year.  If you don't believe me, I offer the following post as proof.

But, as of last Saturday, October 30th, I decided to drink the kool-aid.

AND as I suspected, it was delicious.

I'm totally addicted and I don't even know what I'm doing yet.

Yes, it's official.

I haven't even tweeted (is that the appropriate word???  I have no idea) much to be honest.  I'm just enjoying adding friends and hearing what others have to say.  I knew I'd be instantly addicted.  To be honest, that's why I resisted for so long.  But, I have to admit, for writers, there's SO MUCH information you can find daily.  Agents and friends are constantly posting useful links and articles.  There's an abundance of short clickety-clicks to suck your time away into a huge black hole.

So, please, for the love of all things community, if you are a long time Twitter user and have some tips for a total newbie, please comment below.  I have no idea how to post a cute little link or what all these hash marks are about.  Basically, I can tweet words and read what others say right now.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

My user name is:

If you're on Twitter and I haven't already found you, please follow me and I'll return the favor.  I love nothing more than finding new friends.

Now, share that knowledge I know you all have...I need serious help on my Twitter skillz....

  1. I've resisted Twitter too. I'm so afraid it will be a time suck away from my writing. I'll resist a little longer, but I am thinking of joining at some point!
    Tweet away!

  2. I have an account, but I don't use it. I'm sure I WILL be addicted and then nothing of importance in my life will ever get done until my blogging/emailing/twittering needs are satisfied.

  3. Oh gosh, I really thought I was the last person on the planet to join Twitter and FB. LOL But I have to say, pass the Kool-aid too. YUM!

  4. I finally gave into twitter too and it was actually pretty cool once I was on it for a bit. But now I've ignored it for about 2 months I think. Oh well..

  5. YAY Twitter! So glad you could join us (even though I haven't been on my twitter in ages)!

  6. Woohoo! I'm still not very good with it but I wish you the best of the luck! I gave you a proper twitter shout out and followed you! (Jen_Unedited)

  7. I have not yet fallen into the trap yet... good luck

  8. Welcome. When I will follow you. I just started mine last night. When I figure out how to post a link. I will let you know.

  9. Kristi, I am not going to be much help in your twitter education, but I do have a good piece of news. You won the book drawing contest on my blog ( for CLOCKWORK ANGEL. Email me your last name and address so I can have it shipped to you from Amazon. jennifer(at)writerscubed(dot)com. Congratulations!

  10. I'm following you now on twitter! :-D

THe first time I heard about it - I joined because someone asked me to - but I ignored it for months and months and months! Now, well, I ignore it when I can still *laughing* but I'm still on it at least several times a week, sometimes once a day!

  11. I have NOOOOO idea abut twitter. I just don't get the purpose! ... hmm, can you enlighten me? LOL!

  12. I'm still resisting twitter a bit longer, but I must say the idea that Ian Somerhalder actually tweets is definitely inching me that direction.... if I do join, I'd probably just read what others had to say. I hear Maggie Stiefvater says some pretty awesome stuff too.

  13. Kelly - It's definitely another "time sucker"! But, I will say that because of the short bursts of info, it seems easier to keep up with than blogging. Fast and easy! (But don't trust me, I've had the kool-aid!)

Vicki - It's media is SO addictive!!!

Jennifer - Definitely not the LAST! ;-) I love it too!

Eva - I'm sure like all things, it has it's season, right? I'm waiting for the addiction to end...

Kim - Have you been busy toiling away on another BIG project??? *tee hee*

Jen - Thanks for the Twitter shout out!

  14. Jeff - Give it time!

TC - YAY! Another newbie! I'll follow you right back!

Jennifer - YES!!! So excited about this book! *happy dance*

Kat - I totally see how the addiction goes off and on! Why do we feel the social media pull???

Jessica - Give me a few months for the newness to wear off and I'll let you know! ;-)

Kristin - Keep up the resistance...LOL. It really is fun to keep up with people like Maggie and Ian, and my new favorite Jackson Pearce. They are non-stop entertainment!
