Just a tiny tidbit

You know those daily calendars that some people have on their desk?  The ones with quotes for each day of the week, well, except Saturday and Sunday which they combine into one, which I think is cheating...

My mom gave me one of these for Christmas this past year and I really love reading the messages it gives me each and every day.  Admittedly, most of the time I forget and end up peeling off a few day's messages at a time.  I save the ones I really like, but I have no idea why or what I will do with them.  I just can't seem to throw them away.  Because they mean something.  They're good reminders.  And possibly because I tend to be a word pack rat.

Anyhow, I swear I'm going somewhere with this, in a round about way.  LOL.

I thought today's message was particularly moving and thought I'd share...

"I am not afraid of storms for I am learning to sail my ship." ~ Louisa May Alcott

That's all.  I was just moved.  Something about this quote is just powerful to me.  It can apply to anything.

Ok.  Ramble over.

*take care on this Hump Day*

  1. Why don't you type up the quotes in pretty fonts, print them on nice paper and either frame them or post them on your bulletin board.

  2. Yeah, that is a good quote. I have one of those calenders but it is a shoe calender. It goes well with my shoe addiction :)

  3. My boss had one of those--I ended up scanning all his favorite days and saving them in a file on the computer.

Or maybe you could cut out the quotes and put them all into a frame at the end of the year so you can look at them all whenever the mood strikes?

  5. I did the same thing with a daily calendar once. Somewhere there is a folder with the favorite quotes . . . thanks for the post.

  6. That's funny because it's raining today in Michigan. You could make a collage out of the quotes. Like put them on a bulletin board. I have a slideshow thing on my desktop, and I took a bunch of quotes, wrote them into a document, took a picture, and then cropped picture into individual quotes so it could be displayed in my slideshow. It's not as complicated as it sounds.

  8. What a lovely quote!

I have a Harry Potter desk calendar and it irritates me that I can't have a page for Saturday and a page for Sunday. I'm getting gypped out of 52 Harry-related items!

  10. That is a great quote. On the days that you post you could put the day's quote in the beginning or the end. Not that you asked for my opinion or anything I just love stuff like that. ;)

  11. You know what else I think is cheating? On my daily planner, they make Sunday super small, like I don't have anything to do on Sunday.

    Great quote.
